![]() | Re: Monette Lead Pieces My advice is to find a Monette rim you like. I did that by trying out various ones and then having a used one for a while. Once I was sure it was the correct rim I was then confident to get the matching mouthpices for all the instruments (cornet, Eb etc). Some of the Monette lead pieces are very shallow. I have the B1-5L and its a bit shallow so they made me a B1-5LDDD which is a deeper flatter cup. They can do lots of things like this, although I still use the B1-5L on old trumpets where I am trying to get an old fashioned sound (as we call it - the Tom and Jerry music). |
