Re: Monette Mouthpiece Question! Please Help?

I'm playing a Monette B1-1LD S1 and REALLY like the tone and feel.
I don't have my high range (above High C) happening with it but below that I am very happy.

The Curved inner rim is key for me.
The overall cup volume is still large. Nice balance
The B4 L for instance has a steep inner rim which felt bad for me.

A friend of mine who just took delivery of a new Monette Prana LTJ sent me his old B1-1LD S1 (they made him a new one with his horn). It's one of the most amazing mothpieces I've ever tried. It's somewhere between lead and a legit mouthpiece. When I first tried it, I played through some Bach chorale melodies and was able to get a fuller sound than I've ever gotten on a "lead" mouthpiece. When I played through my upper register, it gave me the ability to add a little extra zing in the sound. I can't say enough good things about it.
