| Curry's Cornet 5DC Speaking of Curry mpc's. I am playing a Curry 5DC in my Cornet. Sweet, rounded, warm sound and can sound even darker. This is as nice as it gets. On ballads it's almost illegal to sound this sexy. Not quite a flugel, but close enough I don't have to own a flugel, too. I know other mfgrs make similar mpcs but I don't have the resources or places to try them all. That would be nice. Low tones sound like Lou Rawls or Arthur Prysock if a cornet could talk. I'm having fun. Can't you tell? I just love practicing, now. |

| Curry piece I play a Curry 1.25BC with the 26 throat and the 24 backbore. It is cut for sleeves and I have the 4,5 and 6 sleeves. It is also the screw rim system. I love this piece. My tone and intonation improved 10 fold upon playing this piece for the first time. I understand that there are different TF pieces available. What are the pieces that you are referring to, in terms of numbers? Is it the 1TF, 2TF or 3TF? I plan on getting one and would love to hear what y'all play on with these TF pieces...... Also, anyone play a TF on a Wild Thing trumpet? Probably Mark does, as I think that he plays a Wild Thing as well. |
