![]() | Re: Playing on new mouthpieces er, i use i bach 3C 98% of the time, and others like 7C when i test trumpets, a 10 1/2 C just for the heck of it sometimes, and a schilke 14a4a here and there for pepband. |

![]() | Re: Playing on new mouthpieces I also test mouthpieces and horns for that fact. I understand what you are asking ad to answer you directly, no a shallow cup does not necc. increase your range. I am not familiar with the LOUD mouthpieces but it sounds like you are having the same problem I had when I tried some Storks back in the day. Stuffy, hard to play, lost range and flexibility. I think it is very difficult to test mouthpieces because they are so individual. It is the only part of the horn that contacts us and makes the sound of the horn. I would recommend checking out the GR mouthpiece sight and reading some of Gary's information. At the least you will have some more knowledge about the construction and effects of the trumpet mouthpiece. TD |
