| Forte User | I seem to have no real difference between gold-silver-plastic. If you jam anything against your lips long enough, they'll start swelling anyway... I was pretty sure stainless steel was already being used for certain trumpet pieces? I actually think Stomvi makes them. I know Stomvi offers the widest variety of mouthpiece materials in the world. I will have to look around again, see what all they use. I remember they use Ebonized Rubber.... Van

![]() | I tried a custom made SS mouthpiece made by Housers when comparing it an identical one in brass and the SS one had a brighter maybe even a harsher sound than the brass one. best Dave Littleton |
