![]() | Re: unwanted lips vibration noise Ah, the dreaded double buzz. It's like shanking in golf. You don't want to talk about it too much. It can occur from either overplaying or often from switching from a smaller mouthpiece to a larger. Think of it like an adolescent boy's voice cracking. It happens to everyone (of the male gender) at one time or the other. It will pass. If it happens in a perfomrance, move your set around a little and blow. David |

![]() | Re: unwanted lips vibration noise This is something that i've been dealing with for a while, and I've been told lots of things about how to fix it and what causes it. I found that the best thing to do is to buzz the mouthpiece very quietly. This helps to promote a little more focus of the chops which will often cause whichever part of the lip is not vibrating to start vibrating again. And if it does happen during a performance, a lot of times what you should do is just play through it. I've discovered that I have a tendency to tense up and try to "fix it" on the spot. This usually makes the problem worse because by "fixing" i was actually just tensing up and backing off with air. Instead what you can do is exactly the opposite. Just relax into the sound and it will go away. More than likely if you're in a performance situation, it's not something that your audience is going to be able to hear anyway. Best of luck, ~PSH
