I have a combination of several of the problems in this series of posts. I am a strongly downstream player, I have to use reading glasses to see the music, and stands my band uses, (a czech polka band) are so low that to see the music, my horn is too low. My mouthpieces are now bent about 15-20 degrees, and presto, my horn is level, I can see the music, and a little more pressure is on my lower lip. All good things, and Ive detected no downside.

Thanks for the recognition, Bill. No, I wouldn't try a Dizzie bell. Something about the weird case that I would need... and since I'm a "late starter" the one thing I am NOT going to do is memorize 10 minute long concert band music!! Having recently graduated from 3rd to 2nd the music is a bit easier (a little closer to the melody line...generally), but still... memorizing music just "isn't my bag" yet.

I'm working with the special bifocals with the 36" "bottom screen" and regular top portion: I can even drive with those so it's convenient in that they can be my "spare" set. (In some ways I prefer them to the graduated ones).
