![]() | Ed, the futures market drives the prices---no argument there. The problem comes when you try to explain that to folks!! Not many understand the futures market. The biggest drop occurred when it seemed apparent that nobody was going to attack Iran for its' nuclear program, which in turn would have drastically shortened the supply of crude for refining. So, gas is about 2.80 here in Nevada...................

| Mezzo Forte User | In the last year, gas in Toronto has been about $1 to about $1.15 a litre. (my car's tank is about 45 litres) In the last week, gas has dropped down to the mid 80's. Last night I filled up for 79.9 cents per litre. This is a great time for drivers. |

![]() | Its the futures market that changes the price, not a bunch of oil executives or politicians or whatever. As soon as I heard of the massive oil find in the gulf I knew this would happen, I just thought it would take more than a week. We'll probably see it bounce back up a little in the next month to $2.59 or so before it heads toward $2 a gallon around Christmas time. |
