![]() | Americanisms I don't understand "Props" is this an abbreviation? If so, propellers, propositions, proposals, or ...? Are "props" wooden, rubber or for doors or windows? I just can't figure out why people give them or would want to receive them?! "woot" does this have something to do with a primate's victory call or is this a strange abbreviation? Happy New Year to All, Brian

"Woot" is just a slang term that can mean a variety of good things. For example, "Woot, i got what I wanted for Christmas" or if you just won a game, so in essence I guess you could consider it a victory call of sorts. As far as I know, it is not an abbriviation. There is a website called Urban Dictionary where different people go and post what different slang terms mean. This isn't an extremely reliable source, but it is pretty decent if you want to know what things mean. Iit has adult content (in the form of words, I do not believe there is anything pornographic, but its been a while since i have been there so I don't remember)

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Americanisms I don't understand "Props" and "woots," eh? Never heard of them. Most of what I know about Canada comes from this source: The McKenzie Brothers Web-site For example: "Top Ten Affects if Canada and the United States merged into one nation: 1.We'd be a kick ass nation with some kick ass beer! 2.The Blue Jays would finally belong in the American League 3.Red white and blue flag shaped like a maple leaf 4.All politicians would henceforth be known as Hosers! 5.one word: Americanada 6.New rodeo attraction: bear back riding. 7.Change of spelling from "about" to "aboot" 8.Quebec forced to take Detroit if it wants to cecede. 9.Condos line Hudson Bay 10.The Mackenzie brothers can join Sonny Bono in Congress!!!" It is kind of dated, I guess.

![]() ![]() | Re: Americanisms I don't understand The W00t comes from a programing expression that has evolved into meaning something really good or happy. If you type W zero zero t into a search engine you'll get a better explanation.
