![]() | Mike you will get us both into trouble mate! You cannot mess with the US folks sport and get away with it you know! I Love your cheerleaders If only we could have the players stay put in the shower room while those lovely cheerleaders ran up and down the field with balls in their hands. Best Wishes Leigh

I have watched a few American Football games (a couple live over here and a few on tv) and have been stunned at just how little actually happens. It made cricket seem like non-stop action. The players all get together, talk about the play, go out onto the pitch, scowl at each other, throw the ball a couple of times, the whistle goes again, everyone dashes off the pitch, the other half of the team prepare to come on, the cheerleaders do come on, they go off, the half of the team that weren't playing dash on, stand still until the whistle goes, they run into the opposition, everything stops, it all starts again. (please take this in the light-hearted vain it was written - I know how seriously some of you guys take your "football" | |

![]() | For me, probably Peyton Manning (an American Football quarterback). He is all about team. He wants to win more than he wants to break records, etc. He is one of the best, if not the best. Yet he is very humble. If all musicians had that attitude it would be great. The ensemble is more important than "me". Now most good ones do. But some, and it seems very prevalent in trombone players, just get bigger equipment and blow harder. 16 violins are no match for one egotistic trombone player. Neither are 16 clarinets in a wind band. Manning is all about team. I like that. Jim
