Wow - looked up "godfather theme trumpet" on youtube and there's a guy playing it, with a link to the printed music. COOL. Yeah, that's a good one.

Wasn't it originally done on mandolin or something? That's not as cool as trumpet.

"Damn, I thought that was closer." Ha!

Gotta love the trumpet solo in the hospital scene in Star Trek IV (it uh...rushes a little...).

Only like six people have probably ever seen it, but "The Rocketeer" had a really cool theme. It sometimes gets reused in trailers that come out before the movie's actual music is written.

Me! Me! I'm one of the six people who have seen The Rocketeer! I was even reading the comic book before the movie.

I'm also one of the 3 people in the US who can read the Viz Comic and actually laugh. Viz.co.uk

Jennifer Connelly was reason enough to see The Rocketeer.

Absolutely!!! This melody haunts me all of the time (it's also one of my favorite films!). I once read about the trumpet soloist, a real LA studio heavy, but one of those guys that played a lot of films but not much jazz or record dates (at least I never heard of him from that stuff) and now I can't remember his name.
