![]() | "Not to sound like an old record but, Van just described why my mistress is my trumpet and my best friend is the family piano back home. It pays to be a loner" I couldn't possibly agree more!

![]() | "I'm just enjoying bachelorhood!" Well...I'm doing that too. I don't think it's mutually exclusive! At least my cat and my pic will always love me...the jury's still out on the other horns.

| Forte User | Geh, CU has a ballgame on Valentine's Day. My old high school chum who went to CU with me (plays percussion and bluegrass guitar) was complaining most of tonight because he has to play that night, and he wants to spend the night with his girl and blah blah blah. Maybe I'm still bitter myself.... Bleh, maybe Valentines Day still SUCKS. Van

| Mezzo Forte User | My question is...why are you bitter? Are you bitter because you don't get to shell out a lot of money taking a girl on a nice date and getting her a box of chocolates or something? Because you think that because you don't have a girlfriend you are somehow not living up to the standards of society? Because you will have the freedom to do whatever the heck you want that night and not have to worry about what a girl might want you to do? Don't get me wrong. I believe in love, I believe when a man is with the right woman, he becomes a better man. I have nothing against dating, I've taken girls on plenty of them. BUT, I do NOT believe that a person should feel obligated to have gf/bf. And unfortunately, that's pretty much the way that the college lifestyle is. But I embrace my being single. I enjoy my freedom. True, it gets a little lonely sometimes, but you get over it. I don't WANT a gf right now. Just takes my mind away from something I'd probably rather be doing. And now, I'll step down

| Forte User | I missed this one! No, not bitter because of all that B.S. about living up to someone's standards. I figured I may sound bitter because of the **** I have been through while in relationships myself. Van
