![]() | Re: Happy birthday Alex! OMG you guys! I am soooooo touched. Even though I have been up nearly 24 hours straight, suffering desperately from jet lag and flown 9 hours today, I have to post a picture of my new baby before I pass out. I look forward to catching up with things here on the board once I have gotten a good night's sleep. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the baby..........Red Bell Eclipse Bb Cornet in 24K finish. ![]() ![]() And she plays like a dream. I am so fortunate to have such incredible instruments. Thank you Leigh, John and Carl for making such a beautiful instrument for me and for such a wonderful week. Also, thanks so much all of you for thinking of me and wishing me well on my birthday. I have so much more to share about my UK trip and some great pictures. I will be posting in the next fews days once I get my bearings. I have so much more I want to say, but it will have to wait I am afraid. I am worn out. G'nite mates! Cheers! PS - It was great to see you again TrumpetMike. Thank you for a nice visit. I look forward to seeing you and the rest our UK brothers at this upcoming ITG. |

![]() | Re: Happy birthday Alex! Very nice and welcome back, Alex, we missed you! Hey, is that a ring on the first slide? I've always found that to be the way to go and it looks like a nice design, for what it's worth. ML |

Now as pretty as it is, the real beauty is the sound on this instrument. Whoa! Like buttuh right off the bat. I can't wait until it breaks in. It will sound like velvet. The lower register is to die for...truly.

There is no logic, I hate them on trumpets, but I can't play a cornet with rings, it just doesn't work in my head. Still - damn fine cornet
