Sorry, but I think you are confusing the sonate with Bach's Hindenburg Variations for solo viola. This was recently performed during an American Idle audition along with Barber's Abagio for strings. The results were explosive, but Simon wasn't impressed.

Mea Culpa! You are not being overly prudish, and tastelessness is a Vulgani trait due in part to a perceived notion of catastrophe's half-life -- that given enough time, jokes will be made about tragedies.
