| Mezzo Piano User | Re: How cold? A blistering 35F just east of Houston. I can count on one hand how many times it has been below 32F this year. Now if they would just quit cancelling schools on the west side of Houston because there is ice on the trees! This sure is a change from the German winters I am used to having.

| Fortissimo User | Re: How cold? Well, it stayed around 30 all day... with light snow...all day. I had to drive from work back into town to "replace" a very crappy rental heap (a whole other story involving the destruction of my Camry on Sunday) and the skid marks were up and down all the ditches and medians. On the way home tonight I saw one car who had "lost it", skidded off the highway, through the ditch (about 150' wide) and up and OVER the elevated railway tracks (8' from bottom of ditch to top of rail). How he managed to stay on his wheels (or maybe what was left of his wheels) I don't know. Good evening to sit by the fire and read a book. |

![]() | Re: How cold? 51F right now in Studio City, but it has been in the upper 20's most nights recently. Snow has been below 1000ft, fruits and veggies have almost doubled in price and many of the trees have been virtually destroyed and will not be viable for years. Lots of pipes are bursting. Southern California is not equipped for subfreezing weather for this long a time.

![]() ![]() | Re: How cold? Nothing remarkable in St. Louis. Temps around 32F. Monday jan 15 was 21F. The inside of my house was 61F. The coldest I have been in was -40 in Glendive, Montana. Winter in Bozeman was cold and the wind blew at night. If you were a skier the temperature was not an issue. The depth of powder at Bridger Bowl was more important.

Rumor has it Sikorsky is opening an engineering office. It might be a job to get me back to Bozeman. I heard the town is 3 or 4 times more population than when I was there in the late 70's. It is january 23 and the temp in St. Louis is 37F. We have it pretty easy here most winters.

![]() | Re: How cold? It's been hovering between 4C and 0C for the past few days here, which is the coldest it's been since last winter. I guess the temperature got down to aboud -2 or so overnight the other day, as we had snow which had melted a little then refrozen. Very dangerous to walk on, but I was smart and gritted the drive whilst it was snowing this time, so no sore bum for me.
