Dude, you have no idea how much I second that quote.
I got my license on July 10th of this year. Being able to drive alone has been awesome, but it really opens my eyes to the real world. LOTS of responsibility. anyway, congrats!! have fun learning how to drive, and good luck on your eventual test.
I can think of several instances where a life would have been saved if the person had worn a seatbelt.

Here's a story for you.

I was at a crash a yr or so ago. 4 lane highway, two easbound and two westbound. The east/west are separated by a grass median.

A car going east in the westbound lanes strike a car going westbound.

Sometimes, depending on the circumstances of the crash, the speedometer will stick at or near the speed at impact.

Well, both cars speedometers stuck.

Collision speed of 110 MPH. We were assuming the westbound car was on the brakes at the time.

There was 1 fatality at the scene, and a couple real serious injuries.

The wrong way driver was DRT (Dead Right There). There were two people in the other car that were messed up real bad. Why?

The guy in the backseat didn't have his seatbelt on, he flew forward, struck the person in the front passenger seat.

Brains on car do not look good.

Last night, me and my mom took my dad out to eat for his birthday. It was raining hard on the way there. We saw a car that had been totaled. The guy was
NOT wearing a seatbelt, and lets just say he wasn't "All togather". He had came
thought the windshield and was hit by a car. Not a nice site to see.
