| I.A.J.E. bankrupt Hey folks, I picked up the latest copy of Downbeat and there is an article in there regarding I.A.J.E.(International Association of Jazz Educators). The article states that IAJE is filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. As of April, the IAJE is no more.... meaning the IAJE conference for 2009 in is Seattle is off. This came as a big shocker to me b/c I had thought the IAJE was one of the biggest jazz hangs (both performance and educational) in the world. This is a big drag! Let's hope that the affiliate chapters can keep the flame burning, b/c there are a hell of a lot of great educators and performers out there just chomping at the bit to keep jazz on the educational front. |
