![]() | this seems like an appropriate thread for anything random I saw an amazing movie today, proly not to everyone's taste, but if you like philosophy and politics then you should check out Jean Luc Goddard's film "Notre Musique" it blew my mind, I might see it again tomorrow not sure if its playing many places yet but keep your eyes open for it

| Fortissimo User | My wife brought home a rental movie Friday and I actually sat and watched it with her (our tastes in movies don't always coincide). It's a fairly old one but one worth watching I think. Titled "Song Without End"... the story of Franz Liszt. Now that lad managed to get around pretty good for a Hungarian Peasant lad who could play piano! Just to maintain balance I then went and watched "Brassed Off". |

| Mezzo Forte User | Has anyone seen "Drumline'? I really want to see it, but I've heard mixed reviews.... Lara

| Forte User | Yeah, I too thought it was really good. Usually the people who say it wasn't that good are purists who say marching band isn't any bit like that, that how the boy acted wouldnt have worked at all on the marching field, blah blah blah.... Rap and R&B, if arranged correctly, REALLY REALLY work well on the marching field. Can't get enough of that bass drum!! Van

Great quote from that film: "back then popular music was not 'My Thong Thing'" .... Actually when the band "hit them" with the "Flight of the Bumblebee" I was pretty impressed while the fans and the president of the university were not. Jim
