![]() | I used to think the problem with illegal drugs was not aggressive enough enforcement, but I've come to see the bigger picture. The problem is not the drug or the law enforcement, but that the drugs are illegal, which supports a huge, mob-like syndicate to produce, traffic, sell, and protect illegal drugs and the profit made from them. The same happened during the prohibition. The solution, IMO, is that all drugs should be legal and distributed through federally liscensed, privately owned vendors. The dangerous drugs that have been mentioned should be available only with a prescription. Everything else should be OTC purchaseable by adults from a liscensed vendor. |

![]() | Oh, and while its in vogue to slam the evil, greedy drug companies, why don't people slam the the pharmacies? Do pharmacies really NEED to profit $1 to $2 a pill for taking them from big bottles and putting them in small bottles? Obviously, the answer is no, since Wal-Mart is able to do it for much less. |

Your post is exactly why drugs are illegal. You don't put people in jail for what they might do. I haven't seen the link between rape and drugs although maybe there is one. The murders and robberies happen because the drug trafficking has to be done underground. If it were legit and out in the open the crime part of drugs would go way down. I don't need to be protected from the teenager going down 95 from Florida with 3 joints in his car. It was probably his third time being stopped for pot so he is going to jail for life. That is a truly smart idea. | |

![]() | Slow down there guys -- I didn't start this thread because I wanted people fussing at each other. It has not gotten real ugly, but I don't want it to go in that direction. We're all friends here -- let's keep it that way!

I don't anticipate that this subject will go too far south I think B15M and I will have to agree to disagree on this one.
