| Piano User | jamesfrmphilly, You can bash the war, and the president all you want. But, don't you ever question the loyalty of of a soldier. I may not be in the military, But my Grandfather was, My father was, many cousins, friends, and most importantly My brother Are . All of these people are dedicated to protecting the freedom of this country. So, the next time you think about questioning the loyalty of an American soldier....look at your own loyalty. You are the exact type of person that throws thing at my brother calling him a "baby killer" People like that make me sick. JGW

| Piano User | "so, he can call me and my people lazy, drug addicted, whiners but if i question him that makes me a villain? i don't think so!" He never called you any of that. And, now you are whining. You've been backed into a corner, and you are scared of being shot down. I stand by my comment. I say again...don't do that. Because the military proves their loyalty day in and day out. I have the upmost respect for them, regardless of any politics. I don't care who you plan on voting for in november, because that is your right...But, let's put politics aside when we are talking about the Military. They are doing their job. When you question their loyalty....I wonder where your loyalty lies....The United Sates, or The people we are fighting (i.e. Osama Bin Ladin) think about that one. Too harsh?....get over it.

![]() | the fact that we are now in a pitched battle to re take fallujah indicates to me that something is not right. if this operation had been planed and executed properly with the right number of troops we would not be in this situation.

| New Friend | STEEL CAGE! STEEL CAGE! STEEL CAGE! The United States has the most sophisticated and well-trained military in the world. For you to say that they are either unprepared or unloyal is ludicrous. You must remember that the President alone does not "plan" everything. That is what military advisors and such do. Also, the President does not have the power alone to go to war. That has to be approved by the Congress. As I remember, it was approved. I think you need to crawl out of your hole open your eyes. For you to say that our troops are disloyal or anything of the sort is to spit on the graves of those who have DIED to allow you to live the life you do. I am amazed by those in this country that want to be "activists". Why don't you take your "activism" and move to France. You might find some friends there.

![]() | Back to the original topic...... This is a difficult mission. Poor planning is a buzz phrase generated by the media. The reason this is a difficult mission is that we are a civilized people fighting barbarians, and overwhelming them as we should (militarily speaking) will do more harm than good in the long run (women, children, etc...)What you don't see on TV is the vast public support we have here, its no secret that bad stuff makes the news, especially when there's a lot of it..... I have heart warming stories that I can't share with you in detail quite yet due to OPSEC but the people at fault here (at least the ones currently MOST at fault) are 10,000 or so members of mr nutball's militia and Al Jazera TV. There wasnt a plan in the world that could have given the american people the bloodless video game war that the media wanted, and I bow to our president for doing what needed to be done. I hate being away from my wife, but that's my job. SOLDIERS FIGHT WARS. A soldier with 20 years of garrison experience is useless, if I'm unhappy about being over here shame on me for re-enlisting 3 times. I raised my right hand as we all did over here, no body put a gun to our heads, and talking smack about my commander in chief will do nothing productive, especially by people who are so many thousands of miles removed from reality. The military is here to fight and win wars, defend the homeland, and the interests of the US. The president acted on the money, and he has my vote. I realize the original remark was light hearted in nature, but this is a serious subject. No personal attacks intended, but if the shoe fits.....

![]() | Gary has hit the nail on the head here and is, of course in the perfect position to point out the media's inacurate portrayal of life in Iraq at present. The media will always show footage of the latest explosion but rarely show all the good will the locals show to the soldiers. There has been some coverage of this on the BBC, but mostly to show how the guards are geting it right and the Americans are getting it wrong, so even the good old BEEB is not being totaly fair. (But what the hell, any excuse to have a dig at the yanks  ) All the best Gary, stay safe. |
