![]() | I really was going to stay out of this one for a number of reasons. But as I spent about a year in the middle east [Bahrain, Karachi, Abadan, Kuwait, etc.] some time ago, I became interested in their culture [especially the bedouin arab [3 groups - fallahin=farmers, beledin=city folks, and bedouin=desert merchants - very different sorts of folks - just like here], religion, politics, etc. The thought that they can agree [or even be forced to agree] on any subject is hilarious. They represent, although in the current state of affairs much reduced, an incredible people who have brought to the world a number of things we sometimes overlook. For a "short" list of English words that are Arabic in origin, try http://www.zompist.com/arabic.html While you are at it, consider the ideas behind those words and the difficulty in originating them. It is a tragic commentary on current society that we are currently engaged in war in Iraq BUT at this point [regardless of any opinion I or anyone else might have] a little less petty whining about the press, politics, whatever--- might be more helpful than not. If you are distressed with life in the United States, Canada, etc. where your life is pretty much removed from the risk of immediate death; where you can gripe about almost anything [however irrelevant it may be], and where you can generally sleep soundly at night --- get real, take a trip to Iraq. At least one of our brother members is doing just that at the expense of the government. One of the interesting things about the military is that they have not only "plan A", but "plan B" and so on, ad infinitum. [It is a part of being military] Maybe, when it is all over we can place blame, etc., but in the meantime we all might do well to think before we shoot off our mouths. |

Can you come up with something new? or, are we gonna keep going around in circles? If so, we need to take this to the steel cage and put it to rest.

![]() | Did you all catch the story of the 3 sisters in the Wisconsin National Guard? Well, they were all on duty in the sandpits. They joined the Guard to have money to pay for college. As we all know, the Guard is not the "cushy weekend warrior" job that a lot of fat-assed bleeding hearts think. One of the sisters was killed in an ambush. After the 2 surviving sistors brought their fallen sister's body home to Wisconsin, the head of the Wisconsin Guard told the other 2 that they could be reassigned, and would not have to go back to Iraq. All you bleeding-hearts, I urge you to call the parents of these sisters and tell them what you are spouting off on this board. The point is, we have a constitutional right to disagree with the President and his actions. If we get mad enough, we can vote him out of office. But dammit, lay off the soldiers who are over there! Sorry for the language, but I am P*ssed. God Bless America Mike |

This is a holy war ... not one of revenge for 9/11. This is no planning involve in such wars as everyone seems to expect or want. The best thing that I can say to you at this time, Gary, is to keep your eyes and your heart up above. With this effort you will be much more encouraged in your duties. If everyone here would do the same, they would not pity your position but rather envy it. May G-d be with you, guide you and your new wife, protect you in all your ways and grant you success, happiness, health, prosperity and peace. Liad Bar-EL | |
