Re: Jobs

Well actually. Players of the chicago symphony make very nice money, the lowest chaired person still gets paid about $100,000 a year. Look it up

Re: Jobs

Try to find some gigs to play at. Like at a wedding, a resturaunt, a bar or club, or anyother kind of event.

I was playing in my college Jazz band about a month or two ago. And one of our drummers asked if I wanted to play trumpet in pit orchestra for a musical...And actually get paid for it! I accepted the offer offcourse. The musical we are doing is "Big River". However, I don't know how much I'm getting paid yet.

But, if all else fails...Just get a conventional job is you can.

Re: Jobs

I'm looking for a conventional job right now. Once I get out of school For Auto mechanics, I'll have alot more free time to get playing gigs. Untill then i'll keep practicing. Im actually taking out 2,000 dollars, adding onto my school loan, for living expenses right now. Its no biggie for me, since i plan on a dealership paying off my college expenses anyways haha. But.. still looking for a job... the economy better take off soon.

Re: Jobs

Racking up the student loan always seems like a good idea when you are in school. Then you get out......

Re: Jobs

Patric, I don't know how well you play - especially sight reading, and quick memorization etc, but amusement parks hire a lot of young musicians. It was suggested to me back when I was getting out of high school . . . I didn't follow up on it as I knew my sight reading was too poor, but it might be worth a shot.
