| Forte User | I just want it to be known that if ever any of the members of this site are in my neck of the woods (Baltimore/Washington DC) I would love to meet some of you and my home is open to you. Once I even offered up the guest bedroom to someone that was going to travel quite a ways to see Maynard at Blues Alley in Georgetown. (They ended up staying at a hotel within walking distance, but the offer was there for the taking.) Maybe I'm crazy for being that open, but I would like to think that the largest percentage of folks on the site are going to be decent, honest people, just like me!

It was playing in some group through our dad's. I can't remember where. It wasn't any of the specific places you mentioned cuz I didn't play with Leonard until 1984, am not from the city of Detroit, and I played with Trudell from 1980- 83 and he only rehearsed twice (Kenton tribute). I was in All-State orchestra in 1974. I think it was before that. I was in the State fair honors band in 1972. I don't think it was there either. (geezer alert! Chuck is older than me ) So the answer is: I can't remember either. DAGNABIT!

![]() ![]() ![]() | Brian, I didn't realize That I was THAT much older than you. I was in All State Honors Band in 1970. JT had Sunday rehearsals that were open to people in the late 60's. Bob Durant also did that. Were you in the State Fair honors band when Doc played the fair? It was between 67-and 72 I think. Still have a picture of him, almost a crew cut, and what looks like a sharkskin suit in gray. WOW! Anyway, I cannot remember either when we met. It must be my advanced age. (according to you) take care, umm, ah, Brian!, yeah, that's it! -cw-

![]() | Perhaps at the 2006 ITG we can have a TM night out? We can set up a time to meet ahead of the shindig and go from there. I think it would be a blast and if most of us commit to it, we could end up with quite an impressive-sized group. I have only attended one ITG conference and that was in 2000. I had a fantastic time. I would love to meet up with fellow TMers at the next one in 2006. |

| Forte User | Ok, I'm a dummy - where is the ITG conference going to be held this year? (I say this with a bit of embarrassment because I have yet to join the ITG If it's close enough to where I live, I would be VERY interested in the idea of having a TM get together.
