Kevin,

Actually, it was a better try than you're giving Brian credit for. I'm referring to the danger that she put our servicemen in when she went to visit our captured military at the Hanoi Hilton. They suffered greatly as a result of her giving credibilty ( aid and comfort, as well ) to the enemy.

Sorry, she did some things during the war that were unforgivable. I was too young to serve but my brother did. I'm sure that you had family that served then, as well. I know you're serving in this current war and I can't ever thank you enough.

I don't think anyone questioned her right to do as she pleases. Not at all. What you're hearing are the voices of those that remember her during the Vietnam War. They are exercising THEIR 1st ammendment rights to denounce her having the gall to speak for the military as she intends to.

The right to free speech you're fighting for on my behalf does not protect one from the non-violent, written or spoken reactions of one who is offended. I called her a commie because of where her sympathies lay during the war, with the communists. I called her a be-yatch because imprisioned soldiers suffered as a result of her actions in Hanoi and she didn't care.

Now that I've made myself clear... exercise away.

Jane was born on Dec. 21st, 1937, so she's 67.

Maybe we should call this her "Retirement Tour" and maybe Attends adult diapers would line up to be the sponsor!

I nominate this dude to drive the 67 year-old's bus . . .

Maybe we'll all get lucky!

It's not just that she didn't care, She went out of her way to hurt the soldiers.
They passed her notes telling what was going on and she turned the notes over to the enemy.

Yup, that's absolutely and irrefutably true.

I can't imagine how she saw that as a defensible act. That could have easily been my brother at the "Hilton".

Here's a link to a site that carried the WHOLE announcement interview from her. Everyone ought to read what this nut said!"

http://www.pugbus.net/artman/publish...anerocks.shtml

Here's a part of the interview:

Quote:
"I can't go into any detail except to say that it's going to be exciting and it's going to drive a lot of old fart neoconservatives bonkers," said Fonda. "We're going to get up the president's nose worse than all that coke he did when he was AWOL from the National Guard."

Spit on Jane Fonda contests have been scheduled at VFW halls across America.
Fonda declined to say whether she would pose astride any national monuments on the "Irate about Iraq" tour, but she did say she had been approached by parents who lost sons and daughters in the war.

"Every parent I've talked to thought their sons and daughters had [urinated] their lives away," said Fonda. "This war is nothing more than a military exercise designed to feed the power fantasies of a bunch of sexually frustrated old white men who have to take Viagra in order to [abuse themselves]."

Well, as much as I'd like to believe that she and the other stars said those things in order to justify hurling more verbal abuse at them , I think it was a parody interview like "The Onion" does.

I mean, if they really did say those things... nah, nobody's that nuts.

Are they?
