![]() | Do the horn background riffs on the Wonder Woman theme count? (2nd season of the show...) "Anybody know of 'Natural Trumpet' or bugle fanfares? I have been looking for these for some time now. I've been researching fanfares as they may have been performed for ancient Kings, special occasions/events, possible Temple use, etc using the pure silver straight (valve less) trumpet. Liad Bar-EL" Liard- Check out J.D. Zelenka, Six Fanfares for 4 trumpets and timpani. Musica Rara - MR2068 -Kelly

You can find the music in Ed Tarr's The Art of Baroque Trumpet Playing Volume II, Method of Ensemble Playing. Schott, ED8839 It's listed as "Anonymous, Duets from the Este Court in Modena" (p.70) The theme dates c.1690 (this is the pre-Maynard version!) -Kelly

![]() | I'm with Chuck on this one... the old animated show, Johnny Quest, had an absolutely hellacious theme with great trumpet writing. It was a show I'd watch as a kid before I even knew what a trumpet was. For you that don't know that intro, check out one of those sites that has old TV themes and see if you can find the Johnny Quest theme. You'll love it! ML |
