Re: Question for Rowuk

Let's keep this in perspective. Polite or funny. No reason to dig too deep.
I often get comments like this when I criticize things that I consider to be "myths" or "misleading" especially when the origins are professional players.
What is most often ignored is the context in which things are presented. That is why a Stamp trained player can offer so much more than the intellectual that just bought the book. The same goes for Caruso, Schlossberg and Claude Gordon. The text is just not enough. When I talk to the players that publish the stuff, they also complain about being misunderstood. It is hard to write things in a way universally understood. I guess Huggy has not been teaching for very long or this would be apparent. No hard feelings from my side. I would hate to see this thread get ugly though. We are MUCH better than that!

Re: Question for Rowuk

I used to hate Rowuk replying to me, because I always thought that I was right in what I did. Then it got through my thick skull and I started learning from his posts... and Rowuks cool now I would definatly take lessons from him if I had the money to fly to Germany.

What about this? Sounds like pretty good advice to me.

Then the direction of the phrase and the internal concept of sound will get the air to whatever speed is necessary. At least that's what my teacher told me...

Re: Question for Rowuk

I'd be interested in seeing what Huggy Bear's IP address is. I suspect it would match another member here at TM who wanted to create an alias for the sole purpose of taking a couple of cheap shots.

It doesn't matter. People that count know better!
He has a post with some decent breathing info in Andrews forum. A bit flambouyant but his style makes it an interesting read. I am not sure that snoop dog plagiarism is in anymore though......

You forgot the second "g" on Snoop Dogg. Just remember, "S-N-DOUBLE-O-P.... D-O-DOUBLE-GIIIZZY"!

Re: Question for Rowuk

I think Huggy is hilarious, he has been a long-time fixture over at THe oTHer site. And it seems he actually knows what he is talking about in the world of trumpet, he is dialed in to every audition that happens.

Schwab: I admit I hadn't read the two other posts he did... I assumed he didn't say anything interesting. I was wrong.
