![]() | What does a college playoff look like? The winner of each conference plays until they arrive at a champion? that would still leave Michigan out this season. What happens to the bowl games? The bowl games are a real cash cow for selective dominate colleges and therein lies the reason why there are no playoffs in college.

There is also the team that wins the conference but might have a key player out and the team loses and gets ranked lower because of it. Yet with that key player in the game they are heads above everyone, should this team be left out because of it's record? or what about the team that is incredible but has that ONE bad game, their fate is decided by coaches and sports writers. Bah, these guys have their own predjudices and during a season how much time does a East coast coach spend watching West coast games. I'm pretty safe in assuming he doesn't have time during the season to pay attention to other conferences so what does he base his polling opionion on? Polls are inherently unfair. At some point there will always be inequity in the system. By far, the fairest play off system would be heads up matches of conference champions (bracketed format like NCAA basketball) of the Division I schools until a champion is crowned. Now the million dollar question, if a play off scheme is devised, what happens to the bowl games? They become obsolete, don't they?
