Maybe TM can corner Jim at ITG and ask him "person to person"?

I'm with you on this one, Bachman. After cruising trumpet sites (and newsgroups) for several years now it seems to me that most of the "flame wars" have come about through comparisons between horns....some fair, some not so fair, some downright odious. Having the horns in their individual forums seems to keep the discussion (mainly) about the particular brand itself rather than trying to rate apples against oranges.

I think it (having different forums) is doing a wonderful job at keeping things at least partially objective. I'd also note that as we start heading up towards 600 members, there will be more and more interest if we can give folks a place to discuss their particular "horn of the month" with others who are either top-notch experts or at least have similar feelings about their "brand". Definitely Yamaha, possibly Schilke, and preferably Conn (due to interest in V1) would be on my list of forums to see.

Getting back to Schilke, Mr. Donaldson would be an excellent choice, and yeah, we do need more brand forums here, be they Bach, Schilkes. In fact, just last night Mr. Donaldson helped me do some homework on an X4. The guy just knows his stuff.

No he is not. I contacted him but never heard anything back. Schilke is too busy to moderate a forum at this time.

TM,

Thank you for starting the Schilke Forum. It has been a pleasure to watch and read the response to the new forum. With both the Schilke and Lawler forums, The TM is my first stop.
