| Fortissimo User | A Trac II or Atra traditionalist here. I'll run the old Phillips triple-header over the face if I'm in a real rush (like "ARGGG... I'M LATE ALREADY!!!) but otherwise it's Gillette all the way. I like to take at least one day off from shaving a week, however. Gives things a chance to recover (and makes the next day's shave all that much more satisfying!) |

![]() | The best blade ever, unsuprisingly off the Gillette line, is the M3 power, the only battery powered blade out there. For whatever reason though, the blades last less than a week, so I just use standard Mach 3 blades, which work just as well if you're tough. I pretty much just go wet shave. That said, my goatee has gone kingtut on me. Anyone recommend a decent beard trimmer?

![]() | Conair makes a nice, small and easy to handle beard trimmer with all the needed attachements. You should be able to pick up this trimmer at Longs Drug, Rite Aid or Wal-Mart. I have a goatee type beard. The rest of my face gets shaved with a razor. I have never been able to get a good shave with an electric. I have very curly hair and the electric just can't seem to cut it, and trying to shave closer just gives me an awful burn.

![]() | I disagree with ML, I've had several electrics and have found that I personally shave closer with the electric. How is this possible? Well, when I used to use a blade I would slide the blade across an area 3 or 4 times and then the gel/cream was gone. I didn't bother to lather up again it was just too much of a bother. When I went to an electric I found I could go over the same area as many times as I wanted until it was smooth. I was done faster and no more cuts. Oh, well, to each his own. Greg |

![]() | You may be right Tootsall... Lucky for me, my wife does not enjoy going out on the net... Sorry to hijack this topic... but what do you guys do when you get chapped lips? I've been using chapstick, vaseline, chop saver and even tried coco butter... but nothing seems to speed up the healing process fast enough. Usually takes 2-3 days for it to heal-up. Greg, You are one of the lucky few. I've spent so much money trying new electrics hoping it would be the one to convert me... and I've never been able to get as of a close shave I do from my razors. |

![]() | Hey. Greg... For me what it really is that I can just do it so much quicker than with the electric but I know what you mean. When I make the time it's nice to have the massage of it and a decent shave. In MannyWorld, however, it's all I can do in the morning to get everything done and get to work. After all, I have all these posts to answer. So, it's your fault. Whew, escaped blame once again! ML |
