Trumpet and Cricket?

This came up on the TH news feed....

Top brass lifted trumpet ban - News - Manchester Evening News

I especially like the part that says:
Quote:
instruments were barred from Test matches two years ago as officials sought to tackle increasingly raucous behaviour in the stands.
I seem to remember a story about Manny Laureano getting booted from a Twins game for brining his horn. I'll have to ask him about that one...

(shudder)

.....it's fairly obvious what happens,.....'Raucous behaviour' is what happens.

Re: Trumpet and Cricket?

Sluch a scandal! Trumpets go with American sports; cornets should go with British sports.

Re: Trumpet and Cricket?

I have a World War I Gas Warning Rattle - creates an interesting reaction at Rugby and Football (Soccer) matches - haven't tried it at the Cricket though.

You guys play soccer over there? That must be entertaining! The Triumphal March from Aida was always a standard at German Fussball matches.

Soccer (football) is very popular having the greatest number of pitches dedicated to Soccer than any other code. Soccer is more common for young team players although the National Team has acquitted itself well over the last decade or so.
