![]() | we had a moonlit 'taps' with 8 members of the community that showed up. the new church of Christ minister came...said a prayer at the end. that's sort of what i hoped would happen...pull some folx together that don't usually meet. the oldest was a ww2 navy vet who wept. he said he had had to hear that tune too many times for fellows he knew. dj |

| Mezzo Piano User | I just returned from France last night, where I played at memorials and cemeteries all over the Argonne Forest. WWII vets from the states were there and even a bugler who was stationed with the 1 ID band back in 1945-51. It was great to sit and talk with the vets and hear their stories as they bought round after round. The highlight of the trip was playing at the Meusse-Argonne Cemetery. There are over 14,000 troops buried there and it was an honor to pay tribute to them.

| Mezzo Piano User | I took my 10 year old to the Vet's Day parade down 5th Avenue in NYC. It's was better attended than most years, I'm happy to say. I called my Dad (Korean War, marine) and prayed for my brother & cousin in Iraq. Bro is flying Predator drones (Air Force) and cous flies the Marines Cobra II attack chopper. He's been hit in the rotor once and crash landed once. Both on their 3rd tour of duty now; cous says he he won't come down while there are Marines on the ground getting shot at. You gotta love these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gregc |
