Delta 88

Shame, shame TOOTS.

Sounds like you have some good memories... so that's how you folks in Canada stay warm... and here I thought it was the beer.

Not to keep talking about accidents... but when I was in HS I drove a V6 Ford Capri for 4 months... until a snow bird from NY hit me head on with a Delta 88... luckily we were both only going about 15 mph... he made a left turn when the light turned green... after plowing through me he stepped on the gas and that tank spit me off to the side and kept on going hitting another guy. I was in Northern Virginia at the time... he was heading to Florida...

BIG MOTHER CARS.... that's back when they used lots of STEEL.

First car: Used 80-something Toyota Corolla liftback, which had no radio. I installed an AM/FM cassette but didn't know how to install an antenna. If I wanted to listen to the radio instead of a tape, I had to hold my hand just-so on the front of the radio and use myself as a human antenna. The engine finally blew on that one.

Just traded in a 2002 Acura RSX Type S - needed to get something bigger because we have a new addition to the family coming soon (Baby makes 3! )

Current car: 2005 Infiniti FX35

Future car I'm drooling over: Infiniti G35 coupe, in slate blue with tan leather interior thankyouverymuch (the wife would get the FX...)

Of course, if I ever win the lottery then my dream car is an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish S (No, I'm not holding my breath...)

It was an absolute blast! I miss the 6-speed manual in that thing (Honda/Acura quite simply makes the best manual gearboxes around), and the HP was more than enough for that little thing to get up and go. Definite improvement over the Integra (which I had before I got the RSX).

Unfortunately Acura goofed up the clean lines and styling on the new Type S (IMO) by designing a really cheap-looking "Nascar-style" spoiler for it instead of sticking with the sleek and classy rear spoiler that previous models had as an option. It also doesn't have all of the luxury bells and whistles that its more expensive siblings in the Acura family do, but it is definitely a "driver's automobile" and you get a lot of car for the money...

The GSR was the top trim level with the VTEC engine, right? You would definitely like the Type S then - I believe it is the comparable trim level to what the GSR was. I had the middle trim level (whatever that was called) when I had an Integra (no leather, no VTEC).

One neat thing in the RSX is how the center stack is rotated very prominently towards the driver - definitely tells you that they had the person behind the wheel in mind when they designed the interior...

The fastest Integra was the Type R. That was around from 97-01. It had the fewest features in an effort to save weight and make it as fast as possible. Yes the GSR has the VTEC Engine. It red lines at 8100K. It was the fastest Integra besides the Type R and only came in a 5 speed but there was nothing more special about the interior. The other Integra models were the LS RS GS and Special Edition. The non- VTEC models actually feel a bit quicker off the line in my opinion. More torque For a Honda but after 5600 RPMs when the VTEC kicks in its over. The Type R and GSR motors are very similar. The GSR has 170 horses and the R has 195-horses. Both are 1.8L, 4 cylinder, 16 valve, DOHC VTEC. The R has far superior handling and gear box. It is also one of the most stolen cars in the US.

In any case. I need to try that new Type S.
