bandman will become famous soon enough
Re: The wind is starting to pick up --

Power is back on!!! Cable is up!!! Life is good!!!!

There have been some bad follow-up storms today that included tornados, but over-all we came through this pretty well.

The people over in Baton Rouge really got hit hard. It will be months before they are back to normal. In Lafayette we get the kids back to school on Monday, and we waited until Monday because it will be that long before power is back on in our entire area.

We came out of this storm with 6 deaths, which is a horrible thing, but compare that to the unknown count of thousands from Katrina and Rita. Bobby Jindal did a great job in making certain that our state hurricane plan was followed, and not ignored like it was with Katrina. Ray Nagin was told to follow Jindal's lead or he would be temporality removed from office via an executive order!

This could have been really bad, but the powers that be took good care of the people that are too stupid to take care of themselves. I may have had a couple of uncomfortable days, but today I’m counting my blessings!

I'm really happy to hear that you are safe and secure! Thanks for posting. You had a lot of us praying and pulling for your safety.

Re: The wind is starting to pick up --

That's great news, Bandman!!! One of the news channels was showing film from Lafayette when the winds were really high. Scary!
Glad you and yours are ok.
