![]() | That video is of the Power Team. I have seen them live -- they are a Christian witness group. I doubt they use steroids. Seeing them live is very interesting. All the things they try don't always work. Sometimes someone will try and not do it and then the another guy will give it a go. And they are not a big as they looked on the video. They are just very well built Would I take a "magic pill" to become a better player if it had the chance to radically shorten my live -- no way. Some are blessed with great ability and the discipline to make it happen. Some have one or the other. I enjoy my practice sessions. I enjoy being maybe the best player in town -- or maybe the county (it is a REALLY small county). I also know several players that probably out play me to boot. So make that the second, or third best. I love to play. I love to practice. I am a fairly gifted conductor. I love sharing my skills when possible. When I was in college I had a chance to move up and on. I didn't. But that has never diminished my love of playing -- and even practicing. Jim

| Mezzo Forte User | Yeah, I got to work a spotlight when the Power Team came through my hometown, oh, I'd say around 6 or 7 years ago. Nice guys. I guess seeing as my first post didn't answer the question, I guess my answer is I don't know. I'd LOVE to be able to play like that, BUT, what feeling of satisfaction would I have knowing that I'd have brought myself up that high? If I just suddenly got better, I wouldn't have that satisfaction. But still, seeing as I don't devote myself to the art that much.... I'd probably use a quarter.

| Fortissimo User | This question is really no different than "would you be willing to use steroids if you were guaranteed a gold medal at the Olympics?" Of course some answer 'yes', and some answer 'no', and some lie. Drugs aren't worth it. "Winning" isn't worth it. Practice hard, do YOUR best, be healthy, and enjoy life. |

![]() | Yeah, it's a magic pill, or shot, that would instantly allow you to play better than all the above and more, but all meds have side effects, there are no free rides. The potential/maybe eventual side effects include:cholestatic jaundice with rare (but possible) liver necrosis and death, liver cancer, inhibition of testicular function (maybe no kids), impotence, decreased sex drive, excited sleeping states with insomnia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, leukemia, gynecomastia (breast enlargement), acne, etc., etc. They're also contraindicated with carcinoma of the prostate or breast, nephritis, and more. Not everyone would have a side effect, maybe no side effect at all for some,.. BUT.., they will, & do occur. Are you ready to play Russian Roullette with your life, to play better than anyone before, or after you, for the rest of your life, as long, ...or short..., as it may be? |

![]() | Maybe the person to ask this question to is Wayne Bergeron! He really plays like all of those guys rolled into one!!! The only thing is that he didn't need any magic pills!
