Hi Folks

Not long now !!!

I have built the instrument, but now i have to add the custom bits to it.

I will be posting the rules and all other stuff in around a week or so okay.

I am just about to leave to pick up Pat Harbison and Alex Yates, so this week will be very busy and i have to put the prize on the back burner for 7 days or so.

As usual the prize will be well worth having! i do hope that lots of you decide to have a go this year.
So many people have emailed me each year after the contest stating that they wanted to try but didnt think they could win, so they didnt enter.

ANYONE can win the prize as we have seen in previous years, so ENTER!!!!

It is a bit of a laugh and we all get to enjoy the entries.

Once again this is NON PROFIT MAKING!!! for the few people who are emailing me with suggestions that i am turning a coin out of this please ask around on this or any other site to settle your minds.
At this point Eclipse have given away well over $30,000 worth of product in the previous contests, we ask for no money at all for entry! we truly are only giving something back to you guys.
I hope that this is the last time i have to point this out.

Anyway back to the fun stuff!

I will post soon to let you all know what is required.

Let's be honest here - Leigh has always made an instrument that everyone would want, when dealing with the contest.

My guess is that it is going to be a Bb, for the simple reason that this is an instrument that EVERYONE will want, not just the more advanced players.
We would all love an Eclipse C or flugel or cornet (or piccolo, when they are ready), but if a younger student were to enter (and this contest is open to ALL, we must remember) they would have much less interest in one of the more exotic instruments.

I think it will be Bb that may mark a new model coming out, or a Bb with some very special artistic markings by Leigh. What ever it is, I love the fact that it gets the trumpet community so excited!

Use the links on page 1 of this thread and read through the previous contests (both requirements and entries). Do your homework. Practice writing (composition, grammar and spelling). Work up your photography skills. Take a class in sculpture. Get prepared.
