I presented some v detailed questions to this seller some time ago, that would have clarified some "dubious issues". Guess what ?? No response !
The silence was deafening.

You know what we should do, right ? "Get the word out". Tell everyone/anyone about this guy. Same for "HotDeal1/smoko" (a/k/a Marek Skwarczynski) ... by-the-way -- he tells me "Smoko" is the name of his pet iguana.

I repeat myself: "We must all work together to conquer mental illness".

Regards,
Robert Rowe

why do you insist on using the term "mental illness" where it is inappropriate, it doesn't apply here and it never does when you use it in this context, mental illness will not be conquered, it is a constant battle, when you use it in this context I can't imagine that you actually know someone who is mentally ill, my bro has a mental illness and every time I see these ignorant words of yours I get pissed, its not like there's no mentally ill people on the internet so that we don't have to worry what is said about them, this horntrader guy doesn't appear to be mentally ill, he appears to be a jerk with overpriced horns, he is also proly ignorant if he thinks he's being a shrewd businessman by ripping people off, we can conquer ignorance and it is nice to think that there might be victories in ethics but the subject of mental illness should never be brought up in such a way that it is glossed over as something that might be conquered

Perhaps you could reword the description to mean "75% NO DENTS/DINGS", meaning that only 25% of the horn is dented and dinged.

Before you guys get too cranked up it might help to contact Horntrader. He has always been very forthright whenever I've had questions for him and he comes recommended by others. His prices are high but as I understand it, are also negotiable.

For what it's worth, he does not necessarily have title to ALL of the horns on his website: rather he can and does act as a broker or go-between in many cases. Without having seen the questions posed to him I would wonder if the nature of them or the way they were asked might not have made him feel that there is no point in discussing the issue with someone who gives the impression of having already made up their mind; or possibly he is waiting for a response from the actual owner of the horn who may have been the person setting the price.

Steve Dillard (aka Horntrader) has been around a long time and is a friend of Flip Oakes... I think that puts him in a different class from some of the real scammers out there.

I bought my flugelhorn from Steve Dillard, and he was very honest and easy to work with. The problem ya'll have is you are going after the wrong person. This is a consignment website. You contact him if you are interested in the horn, and he contacts the seller. You make payment to him, and he tells the seller to ship the horn. That's it. He does not see the horns.

Because he also buys/sells on his own account in addition to acting as a consignment dealer. I am not positive but I believe that Wayne Tanabe at The Brass Bow does the same (act as a consignment dealer in addition to selling horns that he has title to... trade-ins in his case).

Hey, jpkaminga -- "lighten up"!
It's a metaphor ....
Fifty years from now, you'll never know the difference, anyhow.

Robert Rowe

P.S. -- have an ordinary day.

usually a metaphor is used to augment the meaning of words so that they come closer to the truth, I do not believe you have come closer to the truth by implying that mental illness is something to be conquered, I just would appreciate you not using that catchphrase, I would hate that someone would misunderstand you and start using it themselves

mental illness is something I'll never be able to take lightly, having someone dear to me who is mentally ill has changed my life, believe me I will always know the difference between meanness, ignorance and mental illness, there are reasons why the mentally ill are considered disabled in the eyes of the government while ignorami and jerks are left in the lurch

and I hope I never have an ordinary day, those suck
