With some of the cheaper bult horns flooding in from countries that don't take patents or copyrights seriously don't presume a horn is built by someone just because it has the name of an accepted company on the bell. The number of counterfeit items is increasing, some are actually made by the licensed company to help fill their coffers and some are just knockoffs. Missing braces, thumb stirrups, finger rings, different water keys, all help tell the story of the manufacturer. The problem is even affecting aircraft parts--they look like, are wrapped like, and fit like the original but fail much more often.
