Thanks Vulgano. Will have the laquer removed first, but think I'll get a tech to do it. I love my horn, and the thought of me making a mistake and messing it up scares me to death. Like I said before...Horns/instruments/repairmen/parts are hard to find here in SA.

Agree; I bought the new Challenger JBX...fantastic horn, but these are not discounted. Paid $2100 at Chuck Levin's prices (one of the best in the US!). Worth every penny, but not really a "substantial bargain."
