It kind of looks like a Schmoo:

but TopGun's looks a lot more evil, it looks like it is chasing something and when it catches it, bad things are going down. I think it lets everyone know where TopGun is coming from though.

All right, enough of the Schmoojacking - where's a 229? Anybody?

Re: Bach bell, yamaha body?

Ok, well, here's another question.

Has anyone tried a Bach bell on both a 6445 and 8445 and had a preference?

What aftermarket leadpipes seem to work really well on yamaha's?

I'm wondering if a Bach 25H leadpipe and Bach bell on a yamaha body would get closer to the sound of a Bach and if the body would help with intonation or if the main intonation issues come from the pipe alone.

In January I sent my xeno C to Charlie Melk for a leadpipe conversion. When it came back at first I loved the sound but the blow felt very very strange and very stuffy. This was wreaking havoc on my playing and I thought I made a bad move. But, in wanting to give to new setup a fair shot, and also not having any other horn I could revert to, I stuck with it. Within about a 45 days I was sold. I got used to the blow and I still loved the sound very much. I think this can illustrate the importance of giving things a fair shake.

So, for me anyway, the melk pipe worked well for my Yamaha xeno C. In fact, in couple days I expect to get my xeno Bb back from Charlie with his leadpipe on it. I cannot wait!

hey this is my 100th post. neat.
