![]() | LIAD, LIAD, LIAD!!! STOP IT!!! NEED I EVEN RESPOND TO THIS? HAVEN'T YOU LEARNED ANYTHING YET? OK! Jerry has been a long time friend (since about 1978) and has spent so many hours with me over the years, not only on the internet...but the uncounted phone calls...to his old 1-800 number and because of this amazing gentleman, I give him so much credit for improving my musicianship...and being there for sooooooo many musicans, all over the planet. I am so FORTUNATE....AFTER ALL ILL CONCEIVED MUD-FLINGIN'...THAT I DIDN'T EXPOSE JEROME CALLET, to the same kind of abuse that Kanstul has gone through. Everyone knows....Jerry was the designer, and final "tweaker" and the manufacturing was done by Jerry after recieving them from KANSTUL! End of story? |

![]() | AMEN! TRENT!!! Soooo many wonderfully made C horns today. No longer are these new breed of horns....simply CUT-DOWN B FLAT HORNS. Bottom line: They are so many wonderful choices and brands of quality C horns being manufactured today------but still boils down to the indiviual musican to give the time, effort and passion to simply...and as our friend Manny would say: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, EVERY DAY...AND PRACTICE PASSIONATELY WITH A GOAL IN MIND? |

Now, instead of dragging you through the mud on this in front of everyone, I'm willing to bypass it and talk about about C trumpets. Little did I know about the story which you just related to us and really wonder what percentage of the people here knew this bit of information. Nevertheless, I want to thank you for that information. This raises another question: Does the Kanstul/Callet situation still exist as you mentioned above, Kanstul making them and Jerry tweaking them? I would guess that it does as it is the same type of maker/tweaker situation for the Kanstul/Wild Thing horns. Again, I would really like to know the difference between the Callet and the 1510 C horns. | |

As you may already know....JERRY HAS RETIRED AND NO LONGER HAS ANY NEED FOR CONTACTING KANSTUL...except that Jerry mentioned that he is concentrating on refurbing some beautiful old Vintage instruments as well as his teaching and wonderful clinics. ASK JERRY, HIMSELF?? It amazes me that you would even bother to ask me? ![]() | I've got a Tanabe-Bach + Stqe 1 NY C Well, around Chicago, Bach C's are pretty much expected on legit gigs. I use a 229 LB with a Wayne Tanabe leadpipe - something he concocted. It plays great. It's glod plated, fwiiw. However, I played a NYTC Stage 1 C protopye being developed by Felix and Possenger last fall. It was just FABULOUS! I simply loved the warm tone it got. It slotted perfectly and was in tune! It's a wonderful axe! contact Felix for more info. FWIIW... ND

![]() | I wish I could afford the best C trumpet I've ever played. At ITG, I tooted on a Thein MH-1 C trumpet (w/#13 interchangeable leadpipe) that was the easiest blowin', best respondin', most in-tune C I've ever touched. If I had a spare $7000-$8000 to drop, I'd order one of those along with the Thein Bb/A/G picc from Newell Sheridan (BEST picc I've ever touched and I've touched just about all of them). Paul
