Sessions, sessions! I am a mental health therapist as my day gig. No, I would trade you free sessions and YOU could give me trumpet lessons.

And I'm a dumb engineer for my day gig who reads too fast! LOL.

My "therapy" at the moment consists of beating my face up out in the garage on the next concert's music. Still, the earlier the horns arrive the more time I'll have to decide if I can get used to the MR in time for the concert (May 7/8) or if I'll have to stick with the Schilke until after the last "solo".

Well, having a Schilke as a backup horn is not a bad deal. I sold my backup horn (a Benge) several months ago and then had an opportunity to have my horn done in gold plate trim. Suddenly, I was without any horn except a student horn (as I had sold everything else and the ZeuS horns were on backorder). Oh my. I guess having to play on the Schilke would not be a terrible thing

This is true, Jim. I could have been "stuck" with my son's (ex mine) Besson International (aka Kanstul 709). But it ain't a bad horn neither... just a little light for a 7 member adult trumpet section who have to be able to "bury" four (count 'em... FOUR) freaking full size tubas! (the clarinets don't have a snowball's hope in ..... and the flutes? what are they? do we have some? I never heard em.).

The latest is that the customs broker cleared them through customs OK on Friday and the horns were transferred to Purolator (a Canada Post dedicated courier) on Monday. Purolator decided they couldn't read the address OR the phone number and who didn't figure out that they COULD have contacted the brokers TO WHOM I GAVE MY ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER ON THURSDAY... so they ended up in a "lost address" enclosure in OTTAWA (wrong direction from Toronto) waiting for SOMEONE to call them and raise heck. I "think" I got them straightened out today and they promised to air them to me overnight so (fingers crossed) hopefully tomorrow afternoon I can pick 'em up on my way home from work.

As I said, I'll cross my fingers... and maybe my toes. I will NOT hold my breath however.

Back to the original thread for a moment. I happened upon a few Ebay items that are being marketed as "German", "German style", "German Engineering" and I got curious. So I fired an email off to the seller of one of these items asking a few questions. TADA... they actually replied. Get a load of this!

Question from eBay Member: NEW GERMAN TYPE~TRUMPET~5 YR WARRANTY SALE!

Dear nationalmusicsupply,

Can you advise me what you mean by "German Type" trumpet? Is it made in Germany? or is it modelled on a trumpet that IS made in Germany? Or is there some feature or characteristic that is unique to German trumpets? Could you tell me where this trumpet is made? Thank you for your reply

To view the item, go to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll...tem=3720488942

Thank you,

Notice how they didn't say where it was made? :o) Or WHICH "high dollar" German instrument it is patterned on?

Think I'll go after the one who said "German" next.

Ed,

Also keeping in line with this thread, we all could have pitched in $5 and bought you a BRAND NEW, made in the USA (you have to lie to sell a $69 trumpet?), discounted because of a BANKRUPTCY, nice Chinese trumpet.

You wouldn't feel bad at least sticking it in the bell of the tubas! Hey .... maybe that isn't a bad idea ... Hmmmm ..... I knew those Chinese horns would come in handy for something.

Sorry, we just couldn't get enough pennies together to buy one of those used Monettes.

Jim, the last time I pulled one on the tubas I "just happened" to pick up his "polishing rag" and "accidentally" dropped it down his bell when he wasn't looking. He played a whole song wondering why his horn suddenly went stuffy! (but his "pianissimo" WAS very quiet)

Who says trumpets don't have a sense of humour?

Next time, Ed, put a little hot sauce on his mouthpiece! I'm going to have to remember the rag trick for a certain tuba player I know.....

Here's my experience with a Cheap Chinese trumpet.

Before you read my complaint I intentionally needed a cheap trumpet to be using around kids. I expected a very low end horn but not a defective one!

KK Music Store an (Ebay Power Seller) sold me a Cecilio Pocket Trumpet and then sent me a defective model. I sent emails back to them with clear instructions & phone call what not to send me under any circumstances they agreed I returned it then they sent me another defective model. Said they would refund my money but I'd have to pay shipping & handling costs, $30 plus approx $15 of my own money to ship it back. So in other words I pay $45 to look at their misrepresented Junk!

Company is selling Cecilio Trumpets which have outside lacquer inside valve chambers to unsuspecting students who don't know any better. They say the reason the outside lacquer is inside the valve chambers is for looks which is absurd. Ebay now knows this is happening & does nothing they claim they are a neutral 3rd party.

Here's one of my last emails to them:

Since you refuse to let me bring my bogus trumpet from KK music to you. If you are serious on investigating this matter just ask KK Music Store to send you a blue pocket trumpet and open up one of the valves then you will see blue lacquer in the valve chambers which no way does it belong there under any circumstances!
To allow KK Music Store to continue to sell this junk mostly to Children and their Parents who don't know any better (unless they sell it as that) and ebay to make money off it is Criminal.. literally!

Victims of KK Music Store DESERVE NOTHING LESS THAN TO BE INFORMED OF WHAT YOUR INVESTIGATION ( YOU CLAIM YOU ARE DOING ) FINDS OR ITS MEANINGLESS AND IS JUST
B.S.
I already have complete evidence of Fraud: The Trumpet and emails correspondence from KK Music store which proves it! You have no excuse to let this continue and ebay is a co conspirator by collecting funds from KK Music. No matter what your guidelines are or that you state you are just 3rd disinterested party ..etc.. etc. .you are making money from Internet Fraud.
