Emily,

If I ever meet you, I'm not sure I want to shake hands.

You know, vinegar neutralizes acidic oils in the hands. Just "spritz" your hands with some, now-and-then. Eventually, people may get used to you smelling like a pickle.

Are you sure about the vinegar? Vinegar is acidic, it says so right on the bottle. I use white vinegar to give mouthpieces and terribly dirty leadpipes acid baths. You can do it with your whole horn if you throw it in a garbage bag.

You're correct, stcman.

I thought about that last night after I went to bed, but got up early and went off to work without correcting the error.

Should have been the opposite -- something of base ph, like baking soda.

Thanks for being attentive.

You you have a problem with "bad" sweat then get your horn gold plated... problem solved. I know it is $$$ but it is better than having to replating your horn every year... or worse, have to get a new horn every year or so.
