![]() | Thanks for your replies. If I haven't misunderstood you can only get Eclipse C with MY or MR bells. I think that medium red would be my choise although I would really like to try both of them. Unfortunately there isn't a dealer available in Finland so I probably just have to order one or make a trip to the nearest dealer and give a try (which is probably better idea?). I'm afraid that Eclipse trumpets are so much better than my other horns that I have to buy Bb too.

![]() | Yakeko, Last Friday I had a chance to play one of the Eclipse C's at their workshop, along with loads of Bbs (for the second time!). I've never played any other C trumpets but it felt just like the Bbs except higher pitched. I believe from reading about C trumpets that this is quite an achievement! As for the bells, give Leigh McKinney a call if you want something different. He seems to be open to suggestions and special one-offs for people, but only if he thinks it works well. He won't build or put the Eclipse name to something that he doesn't think is up to the mark though! If you don't want to buy one of their Bbs, the only safe thing to do is not ever play one in the first place Rich. |

![]() | Yakeko, The Gap can be an issue for some players, depending upon how well it is matched to YOUR needs. There must be a match between the player, the horn, and the mouthpiece. You will find this explained in detail, on the GR Mouthpiece website. If you find that you need to manipulate your chops to achieve success on the horn.... even if the mouthpiece works well on another horn... the Gap may need to be adjusted, or you may need a new mouthpiece altogether. Most players will use a different mouthpiece on C trumpet, than what they use on their Bb, or, other horns, for that matter. A new Eclipse can be built with the right Gap for the mouthpiece that you use. But, bear in mind that you may still need to change your mouthpiece, or mouthpiece model, to achieve the best playing results on any given horn. Best always, Bruce

![]() | Dear Mr. Wilk: Having been away for over almost two weeks, I was surprised to come here and find that I had created such discord with my post. I owe you an apology. I did not mean to offend you by referring to you as a "Dude". My apologies for having done so. As I said to you personally, I did not know until now that the term even had any pejorative meanings. I, naively assumed that the little smiling face emoticon at the end of my post would have hinted to everyone that I was only making a jovial observation, not meant as criticism in any way, shape or form. Again my apologies, and also, as I promised, in the future I will be refraining from any such shenanigans where you are concerned. Charles A. Herbert |
