| Fortissimo User | You folks have definitely had a lot of fun with this contest. No matter who wins the grand prize, you're all winners for entering. Of course, Leigh is the "big winner" due to his selfless acts of kindness and the high esteem which everyone holds him in... including many of his direct competitors in the brass-bending world! You can be sure that the next few hours or days will give him endless delight as he tortures every one of you with teasers, hints and "delays". It was gratifying to see the response and the amount of work that you all went through to come up with your ideas, make your models, etc. I'm glad I was in last year's contest.... just plain old "writing" was sooo much easier! I'm reasonably certain that some (if not many) of you are now having second thoughts about your entries... "what if I had...." or "perhaps I should have"... etc. DON'T! You gave it your best shots and that's all that can be expected. Good luck to everyone...and I will be VERY envious of the winner of the trip! That's "one-in-a-lifetime" for most folks. If you've got a "significant other", you better save up your pennies so you can drag them along too! I will keep the entries in the photobucket album until or unless the hosting company decides to kill the album. That should leave the pictures for "all to see" for some time to come. Leigh is sending me some pictures of his new shop (I've got a couple already) and I will be using the spare webspace to host those snaps and put them up here in TM. |

![]() | Well, whilst Leigh starts his teasing/torturing session - four of us will be involved in a residential course, trying to learn (in their case - trying to teach in mine) how to transpose for trumpet in E (that should scare them - if they are reading! Go for it Leigh - start the torturing I look forward to reading the results on my return (Sunday, in case you were wondering) |

![]() | aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! !!!!! I don't know whats worse, trying to think of an idea for the comp, making the model, waiting for it to end or waiting to find who won!!!! Thanks Leigh and the people at Eclipse for running a great competition like this and giving me endless nights with no sleep when I should be doing assignments. I think I have checked the site at least 15 times today. |

![]() | Hi All We are spending a lot of time going through the entries and have managed to get it down to the last thirty nine entries that are still in the running to win the big prize! Thankyou for all the kind words, and i am truly glad that you all had fun with this as that is what it's all about. As i have said before it is a shame that only one person can win this prize, as i think any of the entries could have been prize winners. And i honestly mean that! the quality of the entries this year are unbelievable. I think that i have the easy part, all i have to do is to build the horn. I could not compete with what you guy's have achieved thats for sure. It does seem that trumpet players are indeed gifted in many ways. I should be able to get back to you all with a winner within the next month or so. JUST KIDDING I hate to hurt you all like this (i honestly do!) but it is in my nature to be evil so therefore you will all continue to suffer until even i cannot stand the stress anymore! In all seriousness though the standard of the entries have in fact made it extremely difficult to pick one entry out easily, so basically what i am saying is that it your own faults that it takes time to judge this thing. I do have a few hours to kill right now so maybe i ought to read through a few more entries to speed up the judging process a little? NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! that can wait can't it? no rush. Best Wishes to you all (please don't hate me to much for this post) Leigh PS man i love this!
