| Fortissimo User | NYTC is handling the product in North America. Their website is : http://trumpetstudio426.com/_wsn/page14.html The company website is: http://www.hubvanlaar.nl/en/company1/ It seems they use the same valve block that Eclipse and Taylor use. |

| Forte User | Between the two - Bach or Yamaha - I found that the Yamaha's tend to have better intonation overall and I have never had a problem with them. That said, I play a Kanstul CCF 925 - it's well built, has good intonation, has a dark silky sound, slots well and has a nice, focused, easy blow. The price is about the same as the Yamaha.

| Fortissimo User | Guys, remember that JMesh is located in Holland... and we know how much US-built instruments get marked up when they go over there! (current exchange rates don't help much neither!). If you go to the links for Hub Van Laar that I posted you'll see that some pretty top-notch players are on that equipment including the Findley brothers. The prices look pretty decent too, especially considering they are built right there in Holland (where everything is close to everything else!) |

| New Friend | Wrong Country WRONG! I'M NOT IN HOLLAND. NL=NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR, CANADA. Sorry for the mixup. Also, I believe the flugelhorns are made here in Newfoundland. I'm not sure though.

(and this after living just off Lamarchant Road in St. Johns a few years back) I blame it all on the Dutch who insist on calling their country Netherlands and using the abbreviation NL! Too funny.... anyway... NO, nobody is making flugelhorns in Newfounland (or Labrador for that matter!) Now.. if you wanted to go a bit East... like, Holland or England!........... You may still want to consider the Hub Van Laar flugel though... their price seems to be within your range (as is Kanstul & Conn) (initially challenged) Toots. |

![]() | I have a Yamaha 731 and really like it quite a lot. It does exactly what it's supposed to do with regards to pitch and slotting and lets me get as dark or brilliant as I want. I haven't like the Bach flugels I've played but have always like Yamaha flugels. So, there you go. I guess we haven't proven much. Play what you like. You've got recommendations for brands. What exactly do you mean by "play hard"? I can't imagine you've worn out horns in the past. Instruments are a little different from cars and pants, you know.

| Forte User | Sorry to butt in like this, but it always amazes me when someone posts a question like "Flugelhorn: Bach Stradivarius VS Yamaha?" to get answers like: Eclipse Conn V 1 Hub Van Laar etc Now, I have to admit that at the END of my post, I said that I played a Kanstul, but they guy specifically asked about two specific brands. I understand that you like your Eclipses and Conns and whatever it is that you happen to currently own and play, but how about some dialog regarding the two that he asked about? That would be like someone asking Q: "Coffee or tea?" A: "Milk!" Again, for my money, the Yamaha is the better choice.
