![]() | Unfortunately, all my creative energy went into an ethics paper a couple of days ago, so I have nothing too catchy to offer now. I can say this much though: GET WELL SOON, you've done too much for the trumpet community not to keep truckin' .

![]() | I want to personally thank everyone for your kind, generous words of encouragement, and concerns. Since my mild heart attack, that happened during a stress test on Feb. 4th., I have had a stent inserted in my main right coronary artery, and feel much better. It's just been over two weeks now. I actually played a 3hr. gig on clarinet, and tenor sax, 6 days after the procedure, followed by a 5hr. straight ahead jazz gig on flugel, trumpet, and tenor 3 days later. Last Sunday I played 2 gigs 6 hrs. in total mostly flugelhorn, and trumpet. My chops feel better then ever, I guess I'm getting more blood flow through them, as they feel fuller, but don't look any different. I also have been taking time out for walks, and some other light exercise. The last few years, I haven't felt quite right, and seemed to have the signs of depression, though I had nothing to be depressed about, as life has been good for me and my family. As it turned out it was my heart, and the lack of circulation that seemed to taken the edge off both physically, and emotionally as well. However now, all in all things seem to be good..... In reading all your messages, I was deeply moved and touched. These messages were full of appreciated words of wisdom, and inspiration. The TM site, and the entire trumpet community as a whole is a wonderful group of guys, and gals and I'm proud to be part of. I sincerely, can't thank all of you enough. It's meant a lot to me. I also want to thank Tom Turner as he just keeps on surprising me more and more all the time, even though I have never met him, he's has been a great friend, and I'm truly thankful for all he has done in my life. God Bless all of you..... ![]() | Cheers to Flip and a speedy recovery too! Flip: It has been almost a year since we spoke on the phone, and I am very sorry to hear about your heart warning, but it is just that. A warning that if you don't take care of yourself, the rest doesn't matter. Please do yourself, your family, and your extended musical family a favor and keep taking great care of yourself. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and it sounds like you are doing much better. I will contact you in a few weeks to share my experiences playing the WT Bb's, C, Cornet and Flugel. Like others have said, "Damn" I was very impressed. Take care and take it easy, Mitch "The LIP"

![]() | Flip, Sorry to hear about your heart condition. This system is difficult enough without having those kinds of problems. Follow your doctors orders like you would from a great trumpet teacher. Just be careful to not overdo. In this case do not do what Claude Gordon use to say, "Hit it Hard and Wish it Well." But we all do wish you well. To a speedy recovery, Jack Kanstul
