Re: My New Eclipse Babies!!!!

I have a small favor to ask.

Can everyone stop posting pics of the horns??

I'm contemplating selling vital parts of my anatomy to go purchase some more.

Thank you in advance.

Not as if he puts it on every mouthpiece either
I'm sure Denis won't mind though

I know what you mean, Mike. When I received my MR and the Eterna cornet from him they were entirely wrapped in some white linen; probably to protect their finish from the nasty chemicals in bubble wrap or maybe the adhesives in the tape. Truly a mark of someone who really cares about their products.

Although I will admit that it didn't bring up an image of fine wine and a Cuban cigar.... rather a great, rum-soaked and aged Christmas cake!

Alex, that cornet looks georgous and I'll bet it plays as good as it looks (if not better). Pat, congrats on your selection. I agree with the others: those horns DO "work in" with age and just keep getting better and better. I've had mine for very close to 3 years now and I keep discovering new sounds in it.

You got me there Mike and it has been corrected. A big whoops! Do I get any forgiveness for being jet-lagged?

Pat, once you get caught up on sleep, let us know how the horns are settling in....

Good thing neither you nor Alex sneezed during that picture!

That is one of Leigh's specialities,

Scratch brass, red and yellow, with clear lacquer. Bright polish in the bell.

It is MY favorite finish

Alex, is that picture of you and Pat the result of an "Eclipse Intoxication"?

Re: My New Eclipse Babies!!!!

Congratulations Pat,

A very 'cool' looking pair of horns (or did I mean 'vindaloo hot'?)

Looking forward to your test. It will undoubtedly be right on the mark.

Alex,

That cornet makes my credit card finger itch!!

Regards,

Trevor

Thank you so much Paul. Actually, I am planning on coming down to the brass band soon since you guys rehearse only seven miles from my home. You will get to hear it in person. If you're a good boy, I'll even let you play it.

And yes, sound clips are coming soon. I promise.
