![]() | Re: My new Trumpet? I agree with Flugelgirl on having two trumpets. Ambassadors may not be silver, but they play very well and are built like a tank - very much up to the abuse marching deals out. Spend the $200 on a good Olds and the remainder on your "indoor" horn.

![]() | Re: My new Trumpet? great suggestions all. I've recently had advice on getting either a Kanstul Mariachi or a revived Conn 38B Connstellation. What can you tell me of these choices for my preferences listed in the first post? |

![]() | Re: My new Trumpet? I somewhat agree with the above post. Why in the world would you take a professional horn on the marching field. Marching Band is the worst place to take a pro-horn. More accidents to horns happen on a marching field than anywhere else. Think about a pro-horn for concert, jazz, etc. Get something lesser for marching. |

![]() | Re: My new Trumpet? yes, i'm keeping the old conn i have now for the marching field, no worries about that, i've already got that worked out. I was just putting up a list, and marching popped out, i'd never take a brand new pro trumpet on the field. |

![]() | Re: My new Trumpet? NYTC is a great option if you've got the cash. Other than that, I would personally suggest the Bach Strad with 37 bell. It blowed very freely and was my favorite. I also played a Connstellation for a few weeks one time, and it was a very enjoyable horn. Any Yamaha Xeno or YTR professional models are pretty good, but I prefer the Bach Strad 37. Hope this helps! BTW, I also played a Sonare like Trent Austin on this site plays, and it was not very good at all. But, I did play the 800s model, not the 900. So don't rule that one out, it's a good value for the price.

| Pianissimo User | Re: My new Trumpet? In my school marching band, we use student models for practice and then use the more professional models (If the student in mind owns one....) for performance. We're required at all times to have a snazzy little rubber ring around the edge of the bell, to help prevent denting the rim, and to help prevent scratching up whoever's instrument we happen to run into.
