It looks like the delivered price to me will be 262.00 per horn(in laquer) S0that plus individual shipping costs and these should still be way under 300.00.
Thanks,
Nate
Sounds good to me.

On normal rotary trumpets I put bearing oil on the end of the rotor under the cap and pull the slide to create a vacuum to draw the oil in and then put the rotor oil in through the slides starting with the key half depressed.
I am getting oil into the second valve on the oiccolo through the first valve slide.

if you put a drop in that space between the bumpers on the top where there is a gap, it should go in there.

Re: New piccolo trumpet

One last question that I need to figure out, does anybody have a suggestion as to how we set up payment? Should I send out paypal invoices or just give my Paypal payment address? Any other services that you think would work better? Other than getting a final count of many people are interested this should be good to go. I should here sometime today when they will arrive, I'm guessing somewhere around 6 weeks.
Thanks,
Nate

I would think that if you sent PM's to all of the people on the thread that expressed interest in wanting one (I can't wait!) with your Paypal address, then we could transfer funds accordingly.
Thanks so much for setting all of this up!

Re: New piccolo trumpet

Hi, Guys!

So has the Chinese picc saga turned out? Have those who have ordered them gotten them and formed opinions???

As one who has a distinct preference for rotary valve trumpets, I've been looking at these piccs with some interest.

Thanx!

Re: New piccolo trumpet

I think the issue is going to be "repeatability".
Mine is good but the next one in the batch might be rubbish.
We need to wait and see what happens with this batch that are being bought together.

I found someone in Hong Kong selling full size Bb rotaries. Inclusing postage and import duty it should work out at the equivalent of $220 so I have ordered one up just to see what happens. Stuff coming from China takes a long time in the post so I don't exepct anything soon.

It does have a first third trigger. Its the same as the one that some people sell in europe for around 500 euros. Its also 11mm bore compared to the 11.2 or 11.4 that a lot of the european manufacturers are using now. Most older trumpets have the 11mm bore size and a more compact sound.

Its always interesting to experiment with these things.
As I have said before, if it turns out to be rubbish I can sell it on Ebay and get a good bit of the money back.

Re: New piccolo trumpet

I followed this thread silently so far. Today I contacted the factory to find out more. The rotary piccolos are not part of Jingbao's regular manufacturing range. Currently they have no horn in stock, they only make them once they have orders. Thus the idea of placing a bulk order might prove to be good to get reasonable consistent output.
