![]() | Re: new trumpet? Oldlou. My real point wasn't whether a pro horn would help some one. Rather that it is nto necisarially needed. However, I am just saying that band directors have a tendancy to make these plays alot *cough*mine*cough*. I resisted and got my new trumpet when i felt I found one I loved, me and my teacher felt I was ready and when my family had the monetary ability to get it.

| Piano User | Re: new trumpet? I have no problem with waiting until you find one you like and can afford...I don't, though, think that band directors are 'infamous' for doing that. Maybe directors that aren't trumpet players, perhaps. If that's what you mean, then maybe. But not all band directors are 'greedy,' by any means. If your band director is a trumpet player and truly knows his stuff, then he will steer you well, and you would do well to listen.

![]() | Re: new trumpet? Put a Bach 43 leadpipe, first slide ring, and tuning slide brace or an adjustable brace on it for the meantime until you find a pro horn you like. The you could use this one for marching band/jazz or beater/backup horn. |

In the case of little 'Becca', she had a retired high school band director,(Pro trumpeter) for her private teacher and, he is the one who induced her parents to buy the Zeno. My buddy MFFAN,( Dave R. ) sat in with our community concert band and witnessed her abilities about a month ago and was justifiably impressed with her use of that fine 'pro grade' horn at her early age. ![]() | Re: new trumpet? Final judgement of mine... It depends on the person. Go out play horns. One day youll find one you like more than the others. THats the ony you buy... AFTER, researchign it and testing it otu (bringing other people to hear you play it) Thats my final words. I guess ive just had bad experiences with band directors...
